We want to share some great news about the Woodcreek Church property right next door. They are currently developing their back acreage into a natural space, and they are designing it specifically for the local community to enjoy alongside them.
Here is a quick look at their plans:
- Current Work: Professional crews are clearing out old debris, dead underbrush, and poison ivy along the creek. This makes the shared property line safer and much cleaner. Fun fact: they recently brought in a herd of goats to help clear the brush naturally.
- The Trails: They are building an accessible walking trail system through the mature trees, complete with shaded seating areas.
- Community Access: To make the space easy to use, Woodcreek is building a bridge over the creek that will connect the trails directly to our neighborhood.
Woodcreek actually started 50 years ago as a group of neighbors gathering together in the Richardson area, and they view these new trails as a way to invest in connection and community for the next 50 years.
Because we are right next door, Woodcreek wants to make sure our entire neighborhood knows you are invited to come over and hang out at their 50th Anniversary Family Festival. It is happening on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. This is just a relaxed, outdoor event for all ages. There is no pressure or formality, just an open invitation for neighbors and friends to grab some food, connect, and enjoy some time together.

You will naturally see some of their internal church vision and faith-based language there, but they wanted us to have full access to the project phases, timelines, and FAQs. They are excited to share the space, and the updates, with us.
