Committees

Creek Hollow relies on its residents to organize social events, monitor landscaping and architectural requests, and to keep an active Crime Watch presence. Here is what each committee is responsible for. We’d love you to volunteer! (Sign up below.)

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee keeps the residents of Creek Hollow informed of community events and news, as well as important city events that affect homeowners. This committee is responsible for:

  • The Creek Hollow Newsletter
  • Managing our neighborhood website
  • Maintaining a social media presence (i.e., Facebook, NextDoor)
  • Maintaining a list of email addresses for our neighbors (separate from the email list maintained by our management company)
  • Sending email to neighbors with important and urgent information

While our Management company sends notices and emails about board meetings and other special communications, the Communications Committee is able to turn around time-sensitive information more quickly and will occasionally send email notices. The Communications Committee does not have access to the email addresses maintained by our management company, so please make sure your email address is registered with both. If you or someone in the neighborhood you know is not getting newsletters, the Communications Committee does not have that email address.

Social Committee

The Creek Hollow Social Committee is responsible for planning the official social events for the neighborhood. Each year they plan and organize our National Night Out event in Creek Hollow Park, a Cookie Swap around the winter holiday, the Easter Egg Hunt, Neighborhood Garage Sales, along with various other events. Our Social Committee works hard to create opportunities for the neighborhood to come together in the spirit of festivity and community.

We need caring and committed neighbors like you who are willing to take an active role in making this a great place to live.  Whether it’s stuffing Easter eggs, helping plan National Night Out, or picking up a party item at the store, you can do as much or as little as your schedule allows.  Most importantly, you will make new friends and help continue to make Creek Hollow a wonderful place to live.

If you have kids in the neighborhood and see value in the events we plan, then please think about offering your time to help with these events.

Landscape Committee

The focus of the Landscape Committee is to work towards increased property values in the community by educating and encouraging owners in the community to keep their properties well maintained. This is done through articles in newsletters and the yard-of-the-month program. The Landscape Committee is also responsible for advising the Board of Common Area landscape needs and improvements.

Crime Watch Committee

The goal of the Crime Watch Committee is to enhance safety awareness in the community. Members of the Crime Watch Committee take a leadership role in working with local law enforcement and organizing a crime-prevention network that includes Block Captains and Crime Watch Patrol.

Creek Hollow is currently in search of volunteers to serve as Block Captain for their street (or a portion of their street). Block Captains are assigned for every street in the neighborhood that help residents watch out for one another. Block Captains receive regular updates and information from the City of Richardson on crime-related events in the area and what we should be looking out for. Block Captains are asked to welcome new neighbors, let them know we have an active Crime Watch, and collect email addresses so we can communicate with them.

Crime Watch Patrols are organized to canvas the neighborhood for suspicious persons or activities and report to the Richardson Police. They also hear direct from the Richardson Police about the latest trends in both property crimes and crimes against persons and how to prevent those types of crimes in the community. The Crime Watch Committee then communicates this information to the neighborhood via the Communications Committee and the monthly newsletter.

If you are interested in becoming a Block Captain or joining the Crime Watch Patrol or Crime Watch Committee, please see our Crime Watch Page.

Architecture Change Committee

Creek Hollow is a beautiful neighborhood and we all need to do our part to ensure the high standard remains consistent. Because of this, Creek Hollow has an Architecture Change Committee (or “ACC”) which is comprised of your neighbors who volunteer to review and approve/deny proposed improvements to your home or yard to ensure consistence and compliance with our covenants. In accordance with the Deed Restrictions that are part of our HOA Covenants, home owners must submit approval request forms prior to the start of certain home improvement projects. Approval forms may be completed online here.

The types of changes that require an ACC form be completed and sent to the Architectural Committee include:

  • Fence Replacement
  • Roof Replacement
  • Window Replacement
  • Exterior Painting
  • Exterior Wall Construction
  • Fountains
  • Patio Covers
  • Garden Sheds or other Buildings
  • Pools and Spas
  • Drive or Parking Extensions
  • Mailbox Replacement
  • Any New or Modification to the Home Structure

If in doubt, please submit the ACC form anyway.
