From the Comfort of Your Front Yard
The Richardson Police Department (RPD) announced changes to the National Night Out format for 2020. National Night Out is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6 from 6-8pm. In promoting safety and social distancing, they are asking that we replace our larger block party celebration with smaller gatherings where RPD will drive by. Your Creek Hollow Social Committee has met and has found a way we can celebrate National Night Out from our own front yards.
Participate
The plans are to have families in our neighborhood decorate their yards in a Patriotic theme, a First Responder theme, or any other type of Safety theme with decorations, streamers, flags, and signs. Bring out a picnic, turn on your porch lights and wave, shout, and celebrate when RPD officers drive by. While waiting for RPD, you get a bonus of being able to visit with your neighbors.
Register and Get a Surprise Gift
The first 50 neighbors who register with the Social Committee (email to social@creekhollow.net) will receive a participation surprise for the event. The Social Committee will collect the registered homes and register streets with RPD to ensure a Police car visits your street. When you register, please provide the following information:
- Address
- Number of Adults Attending
- Number of Kids Attending
We need your registrations submitted by September 15 so we can register our streets and purchase our participation surprises.
Win a Prize
During NNO, in addition to the RPD drive by, your Social Committee will be visiting each registered yard party to take photographs and to judge for neighborhood prize winners. The categories we will be judging are:
- Best decorations
- Most creative yard
RPD is also conducting a patriotic mask decorating contest. So make your best patriotic mask for the event.
