Paperless Billing

Customers who receive a paper water utility bill each month by mail are being encouraged to switch to online “paperless billing” through a new communications campaign. Even though nearly 13,000 Richardson customers have already enrolled in the convenient and secure online service for receiving their bill, there is room for improvement.

The campaign features an enrollment slip included with July bills that customers can fill out and mail back (or bring in to City Hall) with their payment, making it easy to sign up without having to create an on-line account.

Those switching to e-billing will receive a “new bill notification” by e-mail once a month, which provides a brief summary of their bill, and links to pay online. Customers may pay via Quick Pay or log in to their City utility account (which takes a few minutes to set up if they haven’t already done so). Customers who receive their bill electronically aren’t required to pay their bill on-line; they may choose to print out their bill and mail payment using their own envelope, pay in person at Water Customer Service, use the drive-thru, or drop box at City Hall.

An online account allows customers to view their complete billing statement, the same as if viewing it in print, and includes online versions of the bill stuffers that are included with paper bills, with information about City events and services.
